Hi, my name is Mary!
And Yardolio is my little corner of the internet.
I’m the voice, author, and creator behind Yardolio. What started as a personal need to make sense of my own outdoor space slowly turned into something I wanted to share with others. I didn’t come from a landscaping or design background. I was just trying to figure out how to make my yard feel more comfortable, usable, and put together without turning it into a complicated project.
I live in Texas, where outdoor spaces are a big part of everyday life. I enjoy quiet mornings, warm evenings, and spending time outside once the heat starts to settle. Some of my favorite simple moments are sitting outdoors with a drink, taking walks around the neighborhood, and paying attention to how different yards feel depending on the time of day and season.
I Love Outdoor Spaces!
In this space, I’m always sharing outdoor ideas that feel realistic for real yards and real homes. If something feels overly complicated, expensive, or disconnected from everyday life, it’s probably not something I focus on here. My goal is to explore outdoor designs that feel approachable and useful, whether you’re working on a small front yard, a backyard, or an outdoor area that just needs a bit more structure.
On Yardolio, you’ll find inspiration across a range of outdoor topics, including fence ideas, fountain ideas, gazebo ideas, pergola ideas, trellis ideas, front yard layouts, backyard ideas, and general outdoor living concepts. I want these ideas to feel inspiring without being overwhelming, and helpful whether you’re making small updates or slowly improving your space over time.
On a related note, I genuinely love seeing how people interpret outdoor ideas in their own way. Every yard is different, and that’s what makes outdoor spaces interesting.
Going Deeper
Along with outdoor ideas, Yardolio is also shaped by everyday life outside of projects and plans. I spend a lot of time simply observing how people use their outdoor spaces, not just how they look in photos. Those everyday moments often influence what I share more than trends ever could.
- Daily Life: I enjoy slow mornings and calm evenings, especially during long Texas summers. Being outside during those quieter hours often brings the best ideas naturally.
- Neighborhood Walks: Walking around and noticing how neighbors use shade, fences, and seating has taught me a lot about what feels welcoming and what doesn’t.
- Simple Routines: I enjoy reading, saving inspiration, and making small changes over time. I believe outdoor spaces don’t need to be finished all at once. They grow alongside the people using them.
